A guide to the people you'll meet during your time with us

All of our teachers have teaching qualifications, with most having Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL certificates, some with Diplomas or Masters.  We have bachelor and master’s degrees in a wide variety of subjects, including foreign language, business, English language, English literature, economics and psychology, as well as professional qualifications, such as accounting.

Between us we have more than 150 years of teaching experience!

Teacher

Lily is from China and holds a teaching diploma. She has worked at the school since it opened in 1997. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. She likes the people of Glasgow, who she describes as friendly, caring, and having a sharp sense of humour.


Joanna

Joanna

Joanna is from Scotland and spent most of her life in Brazil. She returned to Scotland in 2018. She holds the Cambridge CELTA and has been teaching English for more than 30 years. She leads the school's social activities and trips. In her free time she likes to read, watch TV, and go for long walks in the beautiful Scottish countryside.


Laura

Laura is from Scotland. She holds a Diploma in TESOL and has over 20 years' teaching experience. She speaks Spanish and is passionate about languages, culture, yoga and meditation. She lives in a beautiful seaside town and enjoys going for walks on the beach with her family and friends.


Annina

Annina

Teacher

Annina is from Scotland and she has a CELTA and a Masters in TESOL. She loves languages and travelling and first taught English in Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean. She has worked in Thailand, India, and Madagascar. She speaks French, Spanish and Reunionese Creole. Her favorite thing about Glasgow is the live music scene.


Katerina

Katerina is from Greece and has been teaching English for over 30 years. She has degrees in English and Psychology and has the Cambridge DELTA. She has worked in Greece and the UK and can speak Greek as well as a little French and Italian. The thing she likes most about Scotland is the friendly people and their sense of humour.


David

Teacher

David is from Sydney, Australia. He has degrees in visual arts and sculpture as well as the Cambridge CELTA. He has taught English in Sydney, Beijing and Paris. He can speak French and Mandarin Chinese and is currently learning Spanish. He loves Glasgow's artistic vibe and its great outdoor hiking trails.


Shalini

Shalini

Teacher

Shalini is from India and holds postgraduate degrees in English, Teaching and Psychology and is a registered ESOL teacher. She has been teaching for over 20 years. She is bilingual and can speak some Dutch which she learned while living in Belgium. She loves travelling and music. Glasgow is her favourite place because of the friendly people and great restaurants.
